5. The Day The Clown Cried
Considered to be one of the most sought-after films in cinema history, Jerry Lewis infamous The Day The Clown Cried was a European picture about a clown (Lewis) jailed in a Nazi concentration camp during the Second World War. Unable to secure external funding, Lewis was forced to plough his own money into the project.

However, on completion, Lewis learned that he was no longer allowed to work on the movie due to a legal dispute with the producer and the co-writer. To this day, it is believed that only two versions of the movie exists: one of which Lewis keeps contained in his own private archives, the other at Stockholm Studios where the movie was shot.
