Sure, Doctor Strange hasn't been out for THAT long, but in the age of super-high-defintion home releases and the almost perverse obsessions MCU fans have with combing over every single frame, it's still stunning how long it took for one brilliant Easter Egg to be spotted.

The film obviously relies on a genius use of a time loop by Doctor Strange to defy Dormammu, borrowing (and weaponising) an idea from classic Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day. And Scott Derrickson didn't miss the link either, as when it came to choosing a date for Strange's life-changing car crash early in the movie, he chose Feburary 2nd...

In other words, Groundhog Day, which Derrickson confirmed was intentional...
