How Long?: 12 hours, 49 minutes.

Why You Have To Try It: Who could've ever expected that, six movies in, the Mission: Impossible franchise is enjoying its strongest reviews and most lucrative box office ever? Girded by Tom Cruise's go-for-broke performance as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, the series has transformed over the years from a more modest spy thriller formula into bats**t crazy, big-budget tentpole fare.

What's really great about these movies, and what makes this marathon so damn watchable, is how the vast majority of the movies feel very different from one another, as all-but-one is directed by a different filmmaker.

Brian De Palma's original is a somewhat more grounded (we use the term loosely) spy film, while the first sequel is John Woo's nutty action-fest, the third film is J.J. Abrams' slick, more personal tale, and after that the series truly ramps up into the meticulously-executed Tom Cruise stunt-show we know it as today.

You don't need to pay too much attention to the plots of these movies, so if you need to take a break or grab more snacks, you won't be missing much. But at the same time, the constant of Cruise's committed performance and the dynamic action sequences makes this one of the more interesting movie marathons you can partake in.
