10 Previous Mistakes To Avoid In The Fantastic Four Reboot

3. We Want A Genuine Sense Of Threat

Not just to the newly formed Fantastic Four, but to the world (or at least the USA). Let's have them mobilising to fight something important, something worthwhile. We€™re not talking about the nonsensical, meaningless destruction that Man Of Steel€™s third act delivered. That kind of wholesale carnage is just sound and fury, signifying nothing. No, we need something dangerous, that strips the last veneer of camp from the equation and forces us to suspend all disbelief in the face of real, serious tension. A cartoon slugfest won€™t do the job, and neither will a bloodless scrap against an army of Doombots. Let€™s have our heroes put themselves on the line for something meaningful, that resonates with the audience. Then we€™ll find ourselves cheering for them, even if they have silly names and daft blue suits. That€™s how decent drama works.
