10 Reasons Miles Morales Shouldn't Be Spider-Man In Civil War

6. The Press Release Said "Peter Parker"

It's strange that there's so much debate surrounding which Spider-Man should be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when the announcement specifically said that the Marvel/Sony deal is all about "the perfect way to take Peter Parker's story into the future." These press releases are put together with a great deal of care and attention, and if the studios knew they were using Miles Morales, there's no chance they would name drop Peter like this. After all, those leaked "Sony Hack" emails showed just how much they were discussing how the whole thing would work, so it's not like this arrangement was made with the details left to be figured out down the road. It's also worth noting that Miles wasn't mentioned so much as once in the emails which found their way online last year; they were all about Peter Parker. It just goes to show unimportant this character ultimately is in some ways.
