10 Reasons Why Chris Nolan Should Stay Away From James Bond

6. Boo-hoo Bond

On a related note, Nolan€™s films frequently dwell on that old €˜hero/villain duality€™ motif. In Memento, Insomnia, and Inception, the hero€™s internal conflict makes him (often literally) his own worst enemy. It certainly makes for damaged protagonists and compelling drama, but unfortunately Daniel Craig€™s Bond is now almost self-parodically screwed up. And while it was well handled in Casino Royale and Skyfall (particularly because of the near-flirtatious dialogue Silva has with Bond), the 007 of Quantum of Solace is so burdened with demons he can barely be bothered to sober up and kick some Quantum ass. It€™s time for Bond€™s character to get some new dimensions and leave behind that brooding self-pity.
