10 Reasons X-Men Should Never Join The MCU

2. Continuity Problems

Bringing the X-Men into the MCU would beg so many question in regards to the continuity that it's not even funny. Questions that it would likely take several movies just to explain away (and as we already established, we may not have that kind of time.)

For instance, how is it that Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, and Peggy Carter were all on the European front during World War II, yet never heard or brought up the story of the child who bent the gates at Auschwitz with his magical metal powers? And speaking of Magneto, where was he when Ultron was running amok with his metallic army?

Plus, there's his involvement in the aforementioned Quicksilver/Scarlet witch debacle that would need some explaining. And it's not like Magneto can just be revamped in a different time period, as his experience with the Holocaust is integral to his character.

Plus, Charles Xavier is just as old as Magneto and, according to film canon, opened his school in the 1960s and, save for a hiatus in the '70s, ran it all the way through the 2000s. And yet that was never once mentioned? Especially during all the talk about putting superhumans in check during Civil War?

And once again, thanks to the limited timeline restraints Marvel's X-Men would be operating under, this isn't something that can easily be changed or done away with.

If you though the X-Men timeline was confusing already, this would take things to a whole other level.
