10 Sacred Movie Franchises That Should Never Be Remade Or Rebooted

3. Lethal Weapon

Another long-dormant franchise that's constantly the subject of speculation about making a comeback, Lethal Weapon 5 was officially announced to be in active development in January with the original cast and crew rumored to return, in what quite frankly sounds like a terrible idea.

Danny Glover made it clear he was getting too old for this sh*t back in 1987, and the prospect of seeing the 73 year-old actor re-teaming with the 64 year-old Mel Gibson, and possibly even 77 year-old Joe Pesci in an action movie directed by the 90 year-old Richard Donner doesn't seem like it'll be able to live up to the expectations set by one of the best and most beloved buddy movie franchises ever.

There was also the TV remake that ran for three seasons before being canceled that many Lethal Weapon fans refuse to even acknowledge the existence off, because if it ain't Gibson and Glover, then it ain't Riggs and Murtaugh.

Now that the small screen update has been consigned to the history books, and the original players are firmly in the retirement bracket, if the fifth installment doesn't happen then you can guarantee that Warner Bros. will already be contemplating a reboot of some kind.
