10 Star Trek ‘Special Movie Events’ The Fans Want To See
10. Birth Of The Federation
With the final episode of Star Trek Enterprise teasing us with the actual signing of the Federation Charter, there still hasn't truly been a depiction of this seminal event in Star Trek history.
This is one that lends itself to live action or animation, especially with the rise of cgi style embraced by Star Trek Prodigy. It remains frustrating that as an audience, we spent four years heading toward the birth of the Federation, only to be given the slightest glimpse of it, via Riker and Troi, on the holodeck.
This is an event that requires pomp and circumstance. It is the beginning of one of the greatest alliances the Alpha Quadrant has ever known, with Humans, Andorians, Tellarites, and Vulcans coming together in peace. As Enterprise showed us, this was no easy feat - so the rushed ending to the series (granted, it had been cancelled) robbed it of the ceremony it deserved.
There is also another reason this would be a fantastic choice for a long trek - as time goes by, it seems increasingly unlikely we'll ever get that elusive fifth season, so this could be the reunion WITH TRIP that audiences have been clamouring for.
It may be a pipe dream, but it's the dreamers who make the future, right?
