5. Ridiculously Increasing Ticket Prices

Apparently, there's a recession on. Unfortunately, no-one told the cinema. Ticket prices are now jacked so high, it's possible that it's all just a big conspiracy to make the cinema's confectionery counter appear relatively cheap. Or, more likely, it's because cinema attendance is down, and some genius high up declared "More film fans staying home to watch movies, are they? We'll teach them a lesson by punishing those who keep coming back." Meaning loyal film addicts pay the higher price as advocates of piracy get it all for free. Whatever the reason, going to the cinema is increasingly looking like a treat rather than a casual day out, with prices going way, way up as attendance plummets way down. It's a shame to think that future generations are more likely to get their movie education online and on television rather than via the fabled silver screen, but misguided pricing seems to be leading things that way. Are cinema maintenance and projection costs not already covered by the copious pre-film advertising? Speaking of which...
