10 Things That Should Be Banned From Cinemas Immediately

4. Advertising (But Not Trailers)

If you've paid so much money, why do cinema chains act like they don't want you to be there? They make rules about mobile phones they don't keep, they threaten you with jail time if you so much as think about filming and, absolutely worst of all, they make you sit through an age of awful, awful adverts. It's become common knowledge that turning up 20 minutes after the purported showing time will probably get you right on schedule for the film's start, meaning you won't miss anything but pretentious promos for vodka and car ads that often have nothing to do with cars. Trailers aren't so much of a problem (the trailer in the modern age is an art form in itself) but cinemas getting you to watch ads for tens of products just because they successfully lied about the start time is just plain uncool. Also, who wants to see one final ad where those M&M guys are destroyed?
