10 Things You Didn't Know About Clint Eastwood

By Alex Porritt /

1. He Supports Gun Control

He's the man who made the .44 Magnum famous. He's the man who made a career by playing gun-slinging cowboys and bad-tempered, trigger happy war veterans. But surprisingly, he is also a fierce supporter of gun legislation since as early as 1973. Eastwood believes that all guns should be registered, and that there should be a mandatory waiting period for ownership. He also says, €œI have a very strict gun control policy. If there€™s a gun around, I want to be in control of it.€ 1992's Unforgiven, the last of Eastwood€™s westerns, resonates profoundly with his anti-gun and anti-violence message. As his character William Munny wisely proclaims, "It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. You take away all he's got, and all he's ever gonna have." What's your favourite Clint Eastwood movie?
