9. Red Sonja

Were many folk really asking for a new movie based on Marvel Comics character Red Sonja? 

For while Matilda Lutz seems perfectly cast in the role of the red-haired barbarian huntress, this production otherwise has red flags out the wazoo. 

For one it's been directed by M.J. Bassett, best known for helming the universally panned Silent Hill: Revelation, and has been written by Tasha Huo, a staff writer on the generally reviled fantasy mini-series The Witcher: Blood Origin.

It was also shot roughly three years ago and yet distributor Samuel Goldwyn Films was only confirmed a few months back, likely indicating that the producers struggled to sell the film and had to settle for a non-major outfit instead.

On top of all this, the first trailer makes it look painfully naff, and it's being released on streaming just two weeks after it hits cinemas - ever a sign of distributor confidence.

If this one somehow reviews well and makes money, it'll be nothing short of a miracle.
