Kevin Spacey plays a woefully browbeaten husband to Judy Davis' unfaithful wife, and Gus soon enough ends up playing the referee during their spats, while the police presence in the town increases, with road blocks being set up. It's a great ironic twist that the robber really had no idea what he was getting into, being forced to play Dr. Phil to this majorly dysfunctional family. It's got a singular personality yet has a theme that many will identify with, that the family arguments are the worst and most predictable element of family coming to stay during the holidays.
