This is an instance of a film with an alluring title that regrettably can't even begin to live up to the sheer awesomeness of it. It turns out that the Martians (appearing in horrid, hilarious make-up as they do) are bummed out that their kids aren't as cheery as the ones on Earth, so conspire to kidnap Santa Claus in order that he can spread the same cheer on Mars. This is one of those film's that touted by masochistic film buffs as being "so bad it's good", but really, the novelty effect wears off pretty fast, and soon enough the bemused chuckles turn to incredulous groans at just how little the film makes off with its interesting concept. What's most bizarre is that the title is incorrect; it implies that Santa is a badass who takes the Martians by the balls and teaches them a lesson. Instead, he ends up chilling out with them for a bit and realising they're not all that bad, while they appoint their own Santa, and everyone lives happily ever after. Again, it's a film best watched with MST3K's commentary, because otherwise, it can be a bit of a tough sit, even if the terrible alien effects are a real hoot.
