10 Worst Animated Movies Of The 2010s

4. The Queen's Corgi (2019)

How little did this film care? In every UK advert they didn’t bother to learn the name of the First Lady.

From the same director who brought you such animated excrement as A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventure and Robinson Crusoe, comes this desperate attempt to legitimise his filmmaking by creating a feature that would hopefully capture the meme crowds of the UK and US, because Trump is topical now, and isn’t he so bad at being President, bla bla bla, heard it all before.

It failed, as this feature about the Queen’s “Top Dog” Rex (certainly not what a royal pooch would be called) being force to mate Trump’s dog, getting lost and trying to find his way home, barely made it’s money back, earning a big fat 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and is another feather in the disgraced cap of Belgian director Ben Stassen.

The animation remains as cheap as it looked in his 2008 features, the story is done to death and if anything, does even less with it’s thin setup than it should. This sort of story with Trump and the Queen trying to get their dogs together needed to be a clever satire/adult comedy. Instead, it’s another kids film for gullible toddlers and bored parents who should be doing something more with their time, like playing with real dogs!
