10 Worst Fox Marvel Movies
4. Fantastic Four (2005)
Even though it was successful enough to spawn a sequel that slightly improved upon it, Fox's first stab at bringing the Fantastic Four to the big screen really didn't deserve it. With franchises like X-Men and Spider-Man were in full swing, every studio with rights to Marvel properties was eager to launch their own franchises and ride the superhero wave.
Naturally, Marvel's First Family was pushed out as soon as possible, the end product feeling more like a cash grab from executives seeing green than a film made by a studio invested in these characters and their world. When it was released, it felt cheap and hollow, and time hasn't changed that.
Michael Chiklis and Chris Evans practically carry the film on their backs, the duo remaining both this film and its sequel's true saving grace. It's harmless, sure, but utterly pointless, frustrating because it's such a waste of great characters with so much cinematic potential, the first of not one, not two, but three failed attempts by Fox to get it right.
