10 Worst Fox Marvel Movies

3. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Is it really a surprise to anyone that director Gavin Hood's 2009 disaster is on this list? Though it's been a decade since its release, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the fourth film in the X-Men franchise, continues to be regarded as both one of the lowest points of the series and one of the worst comic book movies period, and for good reason.

Though Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber really do give it their all here, the actual film itself is a completely downhill experience. It says a lot when a film's best sequence is its opening titles, in this case a cool sequence showing Wolverine and Sabertooth fighting through history, something that everything that follows strays further and further away from in quality.

From absolutely abysmal CGI effects to the utter waste of Deadpool, Origins - like The Last Stand before it - was so bad that it was effectively wiped from continuity, the best thing about it being jokes made at its expense in the Deadpool films. At the least, though, its failure meant there was nowhere to go but up, and set the franchise on a path that eventually led to Logan.
