10 X-Men Characters Who Look Nothing Like The Movies
10. Apocalypse - X-Men: Apocalypse
In the comics, En Sabah Nur, otherwise known as Apocalypse, is one of the most frightening and unusual characters to behold. He has pale grey skin and stands about seven feet tall. He also covers himself in various pieces of armor with his signature tubes connecting various parts of his body.
In addition to all that, he's absolutely ripped and has muscle groups that don't exist on a normal person outside of a comic book universe. When the live-action films were getting ready to create a cinematic version of the character, it was anybody's guess how they would go about achieving the look, but CGI was favored as the best way to go about it.
Of course, that's not how the filmmakers of X-Men: Apocalypse went about transforming Oscar Isaac into the monstrous character, opting instead for practical effects of makeup and costume design. To be fair, they did amazing work, but movie Apocalypse and comic book Apocalpyse don't look anything like one another.
They got the skin color looking right, but a lot of the signature aspects of his costume didn't match up to his character in the comics. What's more, Oscar Isaac stands at five feet, nine inches, which is a far cry from seven feet, which took away from what should have been a far more foreboding appearance.
