12 Actors Who Admitted Doing A Movie Purely For The Money

By Padraig Cotter /

11. Morgan Freeman - Lucius Fox (The Dark Knight Trilogy)

Morgan Freeman was very upfront about his reasons for signing up to the Batman movies: cold hard cash. He cited Alec Guinness as his inspiration, who made a life changing amount of money from his role in Star Wars. Freeman sought to imitate that formula so he signed up for a supporting role in a big blockbuster series; one where he€™d be well compensated for just a few days work every couple of years. He only spent five days on Batman Begins, where his role as Lucius Fox didn€™t require anything more stressful than being charming or sitting down a lot. The part continued in that vein throughout the series, with Lucius either sitting in an office or talking Bruce Wayne through a fancy gadget. While Freeman may not have had much passion for the role, he was enough of a pro to not just coast through it.
