12 Most Badass Monologues In Movie History

By Baz Greenland /

6. Roy Batty: Blade Runner

It might be a shorter monologue than you remember, but it is also one of the most memorable in cinema history. Delivered with great pace and wonder by Rutger Hauer, it is such a good speech because the imagery it conjures in your mind is simply stunning. A case of your imagination being far greater than anything that film makers could conjure for the cinema screen. Hauer's performance is mesmerising, made even better by the fact this monologue wasn't scripted and came from the actor himself. Standing in the rain, living the final moments of his replicant life, Batty's monologue is filled with tragedy and despair. With his death, those magical memories are gone. But they certainly linger in our minds, making it one of the best monologues in cinema history.
