1. Obi Wan Kenobi's Lies
The Confusing Moment:
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a big fat liar who consciously kept the truth from Luke Skywalker about his parents and then pretended to get away with it in Return Of The Jedi by claiming it was true "from a certain point of view" when really it wasn't.
This wasn't the only time Obi-Wan lied, but it was probably the most costly to Luke, and it sort of made the old man look like a bit of a dick.
The Deleted Scene:
Rejoice, Kenobites, for it wasn't his fault. In a deleted scene from Return Of The Jedi, it turned out that it was on Yoda's instruction that Obi-Wan hid the truth. An excised line from Yoda's dying scene confirmed as much:
"Obi-Wan would have told you long ago if I'd let him."
So maybe start blaming the little green guy for the deception, yeah?
