3. Logan – Wolverine’s Send-Off

Like much of the rest of the movie, Wolverine’s death scene in Logan was pretty gory but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t heart-breaking at the same time too. After taking on his feral Transigen clone X-24 and ending up impaled on a jagged tree stump, we see Logan bleed out as he imparts a few words of fatherly wisdom to his clone protégé Laura before he shuffles off this mortal coil with the heart-rending parting words "So this is what it feels like’", which we’re assuming refers to either his newfound mortality or his newfound fatherhood but still broke our hearts either way.

As if we weren’t already choked up enough, we then see young Laura give him a makeshift but moving funeral while reciting a passage from western movie Shane (which she, Logan and Professor X previously watched in a kind of f**ked-up family movie night) and placing an x-shaped headstone upon his grave.

We’re not crying, you are.
