13 Announced Movies That Will Never Actually Happen
7. Tintin 2
2011's The Adventures of Tintin may not have been one of Steven Spielberg's runaway box office hits, but it grossed a not-bad $374 million, and all plans seemed to point to Peter Jackson helming the proposed sequel once he finished work on The Hobbit franchise at the end of 2014.
Well, three years have passed since then, and the cast and crew seem none-the-wiser as to when the sequel will actually go before cameras. Though Jackson's directing slate is pretty wide open, he's expressed an interest in helming more home-spun New Zealand productions in the future, which could put a nail in the coffin of Tintin 2 ever getting made.
Given the time and cost involved with the performance-capture process, there's no chance the film comes out before 2020, which being almost a decade after the modest success of the first film, is probably enough to prevent it ever being made, honestly.
