11. Brennan & Dale Plan Their Retirement - Step Brothers 2

The Pitch: Will Ferrell recently revealed the hilarious premise for a long-planned Step Brothers sequel, where Ferrell and John C. Reilly's characters would follow their parents into a retirement community and try to convince them that they've also earned the right to retire.

It's an hilarious, easily-understood set-up that is different enough from the original while still giving all involved plenty of room to carve out a movie similar in tone to it.

What Happened?: Ferrell confirmed earlier in the year that all plans for the movie are currently off the table, and while the premise could at least be picked up again a while from now, it doesn't seem like Ferrell or writer-director Adam McKay are that eager to get it going.
