10. Mathilda, All Grown Up - Leon II: Mathilda
The Pitch: Luc Besson has already written the script for a sequel to his classic 1994 thriller, which would catch up with Natalie Portman's Mathilda as an adult, while she attempts to get final revenge for Leon's death.
Honestly, what more do you need than that to have your money ready to throw at Besson?
What Happened?: Besson unfortunately shot himself in the foot by leaving Gaumont Film Company on bad terms, and setting up his own rival production company, EuropaCorp.
As such, his attempts to get the sequel made, with Taken 2 and 3 director Olivier Megaton helming, have mostly been stonewalled, as Gaumont still owns the rights to Leon.
Megaton believes the movie will never happen, and considering that many of its plot elements were ultimately folded into his 2011 thriller Colombiana, it's easy to believe him.
