The Movie: Indie filmmaker Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) writes and directs the fourth film in the Jurassic Park franchise, starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and...a fleet of domesticated velociraptors... Why The Fanboys Will Hate It: Because they're already out in force criticising the rather absurd plot point that sees Pratt's dinosaur trainer Owen Grady teaming up with a pack of domesticated raptors to (presumably) face off against the movie's big bad, the Indominus Rex. Plus, without Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neil or Laura Dern, it's already fighting an uphill struggle to be the second movie in the series actually worth a damn. Will It Succeed Anyway?: Nostalgia for the original will effortlessly guide the movie to box office glory even if it's a pile of hot garbage, with white-hot Pratt's post-Guardians popularity no doubt helping. Critical consensus could go either way, but short of a shock flop, the franchise is back for better or worse.
