When Kick Ass came out back in 2010, it was a breath of fresh air. Full to the brim with charisma, comedy but also real drama, it was a film that has grown to be more than just a cult hit. Launching the career of Chloe Moretz and Arron Johnson (Taylor), the film was became loved for hits incredible use of action, flamboyancy and most of all, it's R rated sensibillities. While much of the last films success could be put down to Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goodman, both have since decided to leave the franchise, originally to do an X-Men: First Class sequel until that reverted over to Bryan Singer. While Vaughn is still on to produce, the film is being helmed by the much less proven Jeff Wadlow. Based on Mark Millar's own Kick Ass 2, which was much more crass than the first, this version is going to be larger in scale and meaner than the first. The jury is still out on better though. Oh yeah, and Jim Carrey
