The Great Gatsby is going to finally be hitting our screens this summer after getting delayed from last Christmas to this summer. At first glance a Luhrmann's showy drama is out of place when considered next to the action packed blockbuster fare that we are often treated to in the summer months. Although, I think it is set to do well. With Luhrmann's signature overblown sensibilities, a really great cast and adapting one of the great American novels of all time, the movie has bags of potential. How much it realizes is another quesitons but my little birds have told me favourable things through production. While I think there is only a handful of people who would put it as their most anticipated movie of the summer, the draw of great 3D, Di Caprio and the glitz could make this a quiet hit.
