Truth be told, I am incredibly excited for Pacific Rim. With one of my most beloved directors, Guillermo Del Toro in the chair, e looks set to give us a sci-fi treat. As some one who has felt a dull of excitement for big blockbuster films over the last few years, it was incredible how much I dug the trailers for this one. However, I fear the film might have to wrestle with circumstance of misinterpretation. I have seen countless comparison to Transformers but to me that is surface level at best. While Transformer's action and composition is shredded by the editing and mishandled action staging, Pacific Rim, from the albeit short glimpses I have seen, looks very well put together. This movie could easily be the movie that proves the geeks won Hollywood but only as long as it is given a fair chance.
