13 Trailers For This Summer's Most Anticipated Films

7. Elysium

Elysium is a movie I have been waiting for for around 4 years. Neill Blomkamp's District 9 was a formative movie for me as a storyteller and writer and it seems like I have had the name Elysium on the tip of my tongue ever since it was announced. Set in a future where the por majority live on earth in slums and dirt and the rich live on the haven of Elysium. Matt Damon's character must get to the the sanctuary in the sky in order to save his life and cure himself of cancer, which is easily curable on Elysium. Setting up arguments between class and privileged, it is looking like Elysium, like District 9 has something to say while also knowing when to blow stuff up. While everyone was massively impressed by the trailer and the film will no doubt do very well, it is most likely not going to hit the levels of anticipation and box office of some of its more massive (superhero) peers.
