This one really stings to admit, because as awesome and beloved as Stephen King's source material is, a $60 million fantasy flick released in February, coming a week after Fifty Shades Darker, John Wick: Chapter Two and The Lego Batman Movie, isn't very encouraging.

Furthermore, consider the difficulties the film has had getting made (with the likes of J.J. Abrams and Ron Howard being attached over the last decade) as well as the fact that it isn't a straight-up adaptation of the books but rather a reimagining, and this could basically end up being a movie that appeals to almost nobody.
