Yes, as much as everyone wants to believe it was some sort of collective hallucination by film lovers everywhere, The Emoji Movie is really a movie that was actually released in thousands of cinemas worldwide.

Why It's Dumb: Where to begin? It's rammed full of product placement that's creepily targeting children, the animation is blandly forgettable, the vocal performances are phoned-in for a quick buck, and the plot and characters are just...nothing.

The Emoji Movie is by far the most critically reviled movie of the summer, and with damn good reason. There's not a lazier, more creatively bankrupt film out there right now. No, not even Transformers.
