Why It's Doomed: The well-publicised production troubles behind the upcoming Han Solo origin story speak for themselves, namely Ron Howard replacing original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller late into production, rumblings about dissatisfaction with Alden Ehrenreich's performance, and rumours that Disney has already "written off" the film as a failure.

What's more, we're barely four months away from the film and there's still no trailer in sight. It's somewhat understandable that Disney didn't want to cannibalise their marketing for The Last Jedi, but why the hell wasn't the first trailer attached to the movie's release?

It's possible, yes, that Howard could whip the film into shape - after all, Rogue One was "saved" in post-production - but this is easily the most suspiciously uneasy that any Star Wars project has been since the prequels.
