Consensus: "Inoffensive and kid-friendly this mundane family comedy is light on imagination."

Live-action family films are hit-or-miss at the best of times. Here is a good one yet people still ripped on it unfairly purely because it's unoriginal. Yes it's cliched as hell, but this is actually a very enjoyable family comedy with a solid premise, lots of big laughs and a very likable young cast.

With Aliens in the Attic, it's far better to ignore the ridiculously low ratings on both RT and IMDb. It's a kids movie, but while the kids will find the whole thing funny, action-packed and entertaining, adult viewers should be able to get plenty of fun out of it as well thanks to the genuinely effective comedy. It might be recycled from other movies, but it recycles all the best elements from the many family films it imitates.

The film's best joke is a running gag where the aliens people remote-controls are used to hilarious effect, including a scene where a grandmother does a flying ninja kick. These sequences alone make the film worth watching, but the entire thing is a good thing for the family to watch together.
