6. God Particle

Originally given the working title of Valencia, which gave this project a level of assassin like anonymity from entertainment journos worldwide, the game was well and truly up recently when J. J. Abrams and Paramount announced that Valencia was no more – in its place, was God Particle, the latest entry in the Cloverfield franchise.

While plot details are scant – avid fans/geeks will disagree, pointing out that the film was teased in numerous viral campaigns for previous entry, 10 Cloverfield Lane – what we do know is that the film is set aboard a space station, where an experiment goes very wrong and the earth does a Houdini disappearing act. That’s basically it. But, given the original followed a found footage template and its successor was a taut thriller, expect God Particle to be a totally different experience altogether.

The film is being directed by Julius Onah with Daniel Brühl, Chris O'Dowd, Zhang Ziyi and David Oyelowo all on the cast list. Viewers will have to wait until October 27th to see what is in store.
