15 R-Rated Comic Book Movies That Need To Happen After Deadpool
2. The Maxx
Let’s be honest – The Maxx is just plain weird. It’s like nothing you've read before and there’s been nothing quite like it since. So how do you explain a plot as complex as this one?
Created by Sam Kieth, the series follows the titular hero in the real world as well as in an alternative reality. By day the homeless Maxx huddles in his box and dreams of humiliating evil villains. When he bursts into the colorful netherworld referred to as the Outback, he is a purple-clad superhero and the protector of the Jungle Queen. The Jungle Queen exists in the real world as Julie Winters, a freelance social worker, as well as Maxx’s only friend.
Sadly, beyond a short lived MTV animated series there’s not been any interest in turning this comic into a live action motion picture. This is a pity - a live-action Maxx has the potential to be every bit as complex as Christopher Nolan's Inception while still being as fun as Avengers. It’s that good. If only Hollywood was willing to take a punt on such a project.
