15. The Harry Potter Franchise Wins Its First Oscar
The legendary Colleen Atwood scooped her fourth Oscar win for Best Costume Design for her work on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which surprisingly enough was the first Oscar win for any of the nine movies in the Harry Potter franchise.

This is further surprising as many pundits thought Jackie had this one locked up beyond all question, but Atwood's epic status in the field no doubt helped her win out in the end.
And yes, Jackie went home empty handed with three nominations, which sucks.
