Despite turning in many good entries and a couple of great ones, Fallout is by far the strongest yet, with returning director Christopher McQuarrie and actor-stuntman Tom Cruise proving to be one of Hollywood's most formidable teams.

Cruise once again one-ups himself by diving headlong into harm's way for our entertainment, this time even perilously piloting a helicopter for real in the movie's dizzying final set-piece.

Henry Cavill and his finely-groomed moustache meanwhile proved that ruining Justice League was well worth it, as he turned in arguably the best performance of his career and certainly the most physically imposing M:I villain yet.
