20 Greatest Moments In Wizarding World Movies

3. Dumbledore's Death - Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince

As already mentioned, Half-Blood Prince is arguably the worst Harry Potter film, but this scene... this scene is pretty much perfect.

The death of Albus Dumbledore, one of JK Rowling's best creations who was superbly played by both Richard Harris and Michael Gambon in the films, is absolutely devastating. David Yates directed this scene to perfection and Nicholas Hooper's beautiful musical score makes the moment even more shattering.

Dumbledore's death scene is also a fine showcase for Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), the best young actor in the Harry Potter films, who has been sent to assassinate Dumbledore but can't go through with it. In the end, Snape does it instead and for those who hadn't read the books, it will have taken a long time to recover from the shock.

After the Death Eaters escape, Harry cries by Dumbledore's body while the Hogwarts staff and students light their wands and point them at the sky, breaking the Dark Mark that had been cast above the school when Dumbledore died.

It's no exaggeration to say that this moment is completely heartbreaking in every single way and it's one of the most perfect scenes you'll ever find within a bad movie.
