8. "If You Wear A Dress & Have An Animal Sidekick, You're A Princess" - Moana

One of the best things about Disney's latest classic is that it steers away from a lot of their more conventional elements, such as having a princess who needs to find her betrothed.

In one meta scene, Moana (Auli'i Cravalho) assures demi-God Maui (Dwayne Johnson) that she's no princess, to which Maui reminds her, indeed, that she is, drawing attention to the various Disney tropes she's still beholden to in a wonderful wink at the audience.

It's a perfect line that'll fly clear over the heads of kids, but prove a memorable highlight to adults long-reared on the Disney formula.
