7. "I Accept Your Apology" - 10 Cloverfield Lane

Easily the most chilling scene in 10 Cloverfield Lane sees deranged survivalist Howard (John Goodman) forgive Emmet (John Gallagher Jr) for admitting to trying to steal his gun.

Howard says, "I accept your apology", and mere seconds later, pulls his gun and shoots Emmet in the face, to Michelle's (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) absolute horror.

It cements the brilliance of Goodman's performance and helps enhance the grim potential of Michelle's predicament. That Emmet then ends up dissolved in a barrel of acid just makes it all the more unsettling.
