Dwayne Johnson has been attached to the role of anti-hero Black Adam for years and years, and until recently it was assumed that he would play the supervillain in the upcoming Shazam! movie.
However, at the start of the year Johnson confirmed that he will in fact star in his own Black Adam solo movie, and though the credits of screenwriter Adam Sztykiel (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul) are rather suspect, Johnson's perfect casting as the character makes it hard not to be at least a little amped.
Johnson's ridiculous physique and insane level of charm make him a fantastic fit for a superhero, and though the DCEU's track record is patchy at best, The Rock's got a knack for elevating even mediocre material with his infectious enthusiasm. Fingers crossed.
