13. Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

What It Sounds Like: Jason Takes Manhattan is a suggestive title. It implies that the hockey mask murderer ups sticks from the rural confines of Crystal Lake and begins slaughtering teens in the Big Apple. Or that he in fact €œtakes€ Manhattan, as if it were a dollar bill found on the ground outside the corner shop.

What It Actually Is: The eighth chapter in the never-ending slasher series does neither. Jason€™s exploits in this sequel occur on a boat somewhere off the coast of Manhattan. The final twenty minutes or so sees him finally hit shore but the bulk of his kills aren€™t remotely near the island. Plus, his inevitable €œdeath€ doesn€™t strike us as taking Manhattan.

What It Should Have Been Called: Jason Goes Boating
