20 Film & TV Remakes You Didn't Know Were Coming

4. Night At The Museum

With Night at the Museum, Fox and Shawn Levy created a perfect family franchise that remained enjoyable, and never outstayed its welcome. It's a solid trilogy, and you could argue that both fans and creators couldn't ask for anything more than that.

However, calls for a fourth film have been persistent, with 2022's animated Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again on Disney+ failing to scratch that itch. While Ben Stiller may have returned to the SandlerVerse in recent years, and with Focker in Law on the horizon, it seems a return to the Smithsonian is largely out of the question.

Rather than a new instalment in the original series, Night at the Museum is getting a revamp and a reboot, though currently outside of Shawn Levy's return as a producer and the fact that it will focus on a new story with new characters, there isn't too much known for the moment.

The threequel, Secret of the Tomb, only released in 2014, but it seems as though Hollywood is waiting less and less time to reboot properties these days. Has enough time passed for fans to open themselves up to a museum without Stiller front and centre? Who can say.
