Terminator Salvation doesn't have a lot to recommend it director McG did such a bad job that plans for a further two sequels helmed by him were immediately scrapped, and star/crew abuser Christian Bale swore of working with him again but it definitely tries its best to cram in as many references to previous films as possible to ingratiate itself to viewers. Over the course of its mostly ill-spent two hours there are old recordings of Sarah Connor (lines from the first film Linda Hamilton re-recorded, uncredited), Marcus and Kyle steal a car from the same observatory the T-800 arrived in, Marcus repeats Kyle's line from the first film back to him (What day is it? What year?) and Reee's shotgun trick from The Terminator is taught to him by Marcus, too.
