9. Christopher Nolan Also Has A Thing For Blade Runner
Ridley Scotts 1982 science fiction milestone just might be Christopher Nolans favorite movie of all time (at a screening of Inception, Nolan actually thanked/apologized to Scott for all the stuff hed stolen from the film), and supposedly, before shooting began, Nolan showed his Batman Begins collaborators a print of Blade Runner and told them, THIS is how were going to do Batman. The influence arguably shows most clearly in Begins, where the streets of Gotham have just a touch of the apocalyptic futurism of Scotts film; and, of course, where Nolan cast Rutger Tears in the rain Hauer in the supporting role of corrupt Wayne Enterprises CEO William Earle.
