9. Christopher Nolan Also Has A Thing For Blade Runner

Ridley Scott€™s 1982 science fiction milestone just might be Christopher Nolan€™s favorite movie of all time (at a screening of Inception, Nolan actually thanked/apologized to Scott for all the stuff he€™d €œstolen€ from the film), and supposedly, before shooting began, Nolan showed his Batman Begins collaborators a print of Blade Runner and told them, €œTHIS is how we€™re going to do Batman.€ The influence arguably shows most clearly in Begins, where the streets of Gotham have just a touch of the apocalyptic futurism of Scott€™s film; and, of course, where Nolan cast Rutger €œTears in the rain€ Hauer in the supporting role of corrupt Wayne Enterprises CEO William Earle.
