19. The Chest Waxing Scene Was Done For Real

By far the most memorable scene in the movie involves Andy having his chest hair waxed in hilariously excruciating detail. And no, that wasn't an artificial rug of hair, but in fact Steve Carell's own chest mane which was actually waxed off for real.

Due to the one-take nature of the scene, Apatow had five cameras set up to capture it on the first try, and evidently, the results were absolutely spectacular.

Doing it for real was reportedly the idea of Carell, who told Apatow, "It has to be real. It won't be as funny if it's mocked up, or if it's special effect. You have to see that this is really happening."
