For some reason, both Donnie Wahlberg’s Vincent Gray and
Haley Joel Osment’s Cole Sear have matching patches of hair.

Well, matching yet different.
If you take a closer look at both characters, the two of
them have almost-white patches of hair on the right sides of their heads. When
looking at Vincent, the patch is on the side of his head, whilst Cole’s similar
patch is behind his ear.
Clearly there’s some link there, with both Vincent and Cole having the unfortunate gift of being able to see dead people. A gift that provides all kinds of trauma and pain for the two - to the extent that Vincent killed himself.
