For former New Kid on the Block Donnie Wahlberg, he was so
desperate to nail the role of Vincent Gray that he did everything he could possibly do to become the unhinged, unwell Vincent.
Wahlberg moved away from his family and lived in a small New
York City apartment for five weeks. With no credit cards with him, Donnie fasted for
two days at a time, filling his eating days with steamed cabbage and beet
juice.
As part of his 40 lb weight loss for the movie, Wahlberg would
spend hours and hours just walking around the streets of NYC – and he didn’t shower
for weeks on end.
